Kind Office is a new venture between DC Office Services & Harris & Co. The concept of the business is to actively promote the 3 R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) in Central Bristol. As we supply and deliver office supplies we will help our customers with their recycling, such as paper, cardboard, printer cartridges, used office furniture, batteries and mobile phones. Anything of any value will be forwarded to charities to help with various projects. All small orders recieved will be delivered by bicycle.

Between 10am & 3pm, 2nd April 08, will also be open for visitors to come and meet us and our suppliers to discuss green issues we have in the workplace.

23rd October 07 - Cut Your Carbon Foot Print
Whatever your business you're in, you are producing CO2 - carbon dioxide - the global warming gas that is contributing to climate change. It's not just manufacturing and heavy industry that contribute CO2 to the atmosphere - even a PC has a direct effect on carbon emmissions as computers use electricity that has been produced by our coal, gas or oil-burning power stations.

Scientists are telling us we need to cut emissions by 50% by 2050 if we are to avoid disatrous changes to world's climate. Sounds daunting, but both individuals and companies can cut their carbon emissions and make better use of resources - we can all make a difference.

Here are some simple steps you and your colleagues can take to reduce carbon emissions from your business. Most are at no cost to your company and some will even save the business money!

1. Change your light bulbs for energy saving equivalents at home and at work - If an office changed 150 light bulbs for energy saving bulbs, it would save 1 tonne of CO2 in a month.

2. Turn off your PC overnight - If 200 staff in an office were to do that every day they would save 5 tonnes of C02 in a year.

3. Turn off your office lights at night - Forty lights turned off every night for one year would save 10 tonnes of CO2.

4. Turn your office heating down a little - If 27 offices measuring around 500m2 turned theire heating down by 1 degree centigrade, 100 tonnes of CO2 would be saved in one year.
